Did you know??
The Alter Rail or Communion Rail surrounds the most sacred area in the church, the space around the alter, giving us a place to kneel and receive the Eucharist. Some are metal and some are made of wood, like the one at St John's. A quick google search we can lean some of the history of why this exists, when it started to be used, and even some of the opinions surrounding it. Better yet, ask us, join us in person.
